Overview

Jeanne d'Arc Manor and Giovanni Center are low income housing complexes for seniors. There are a total of 111 un We are located in downtown San Jose close to the corner of 5th Street and San Fernando Street. Under the the Property Manager, the Recreation Director is responsible for providing fun and exciting activities to the senior a1 disabled residents of Jeanne d'Arc Manor and Giovanni Center.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate various activities (arts & crafts, lobby games, bingo,etc.)
  • Coordinate with Administrator and Assistant Administrator for a monthly calendar of events
  • Type articles or make flyers for monthly newsletter
  • Work in a team environment and independently when other staff members are not available
  • Decorating lobby and party events
  • Cleaning, sweeping, moping, wiping, and vacuuming after activities
  • Reporting resident needs or concerns to supervisors
  • Must be energetic and creative
  • People skills a must (i.e. polite, courteous, )

Qualifications

  • Experience in recreation, elderly or disabled population
  • Must be a high school graduate with fluent speaking, reading, and writing skills in English
  • Excellent computer skills (articles, newsletter, etc.)
  • Ability to work with direct supervisor or with little instructions depending on task
  • Willing to work with traditional methods and propose new ideas
  • Must have California Driver's License, clean background check, insured vehicle
