The Resident Services Coordinator – Food Distribution Assistant is responsible for the implementation and continuation of Resident Services, including Food Programs designed to meet the needs of residents in properties owned by First Community Housing Corporation and managed by The John Stewart Company.


  1. Implement and Carry Forth Resident Services Programming. Create publications to advertise community events i.e., calendars, event flyers, and newsletters. Work with Resident Services Coordinators to prepare and put on community programs.
  1. Deliver Resident Services Food Programs. Food Distribution Assistant will help Resident Services Coordinators and property staff with delivering food to residents at various properties promoting positive interaction between residents and site staff. Food Programs vary property to property. At times, will help pick up food from Second Harvest Food bank and bring back to property. Will then unload food and assemble grocery bags and deliver to each resident unit. Other Food Programs will consist of delivering prepared meals to resident doors or community rooms.
  1. Manage the administration of the Resident Services Program. Gather statistics on all aspects of the Food Programs.  Shop for supplies and equipment when needed. Monitor mileage. Maintain neat and clean areas after food programs are complete. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.


Education and Experience:

Minimum high school diploma or GED; or two to four years of experience and/or training working with affordable housing families, children, seniors and disabled populations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and statistical data. Needs to offer support with writing reports, composing new documents and editing. Must have ability to speak effectively before groups of people. Ability to understand and speak two languages a plus.


Computer Operations:

Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Demonstrated knowledge on Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. 


Work Schedule/Hours:

Monday – Friday. Typical hours range from 7am to 12pm and 7am to 3:30pm on Wednesdays. Resident Services Coordinator will need to re-arrange their work schedule as necessary to accommodate Food Distributions times.
