SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, this position is responsible for managing payables on 20-30 properties.  Accountant will provide oversight for AP Specialist and AR activities by site staff.  A solid foundation in GAAP, and the ability to work within a team structure is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare check runs and wire transfers for many different properties with many vendors
  • Managing 60-100 bank accounts.
  • Ensuring utilities and other vendors paid in a timely manner.
  • Assist site staff in GL code recommendations and navigation of AP software
  • Work closely with site staff, regional managers and accountants for mutual property and vendor success
  • Process 542s, Unclaimed Funds and annual 1099s
  • Assist with audit inquiries
  • Various clerical duties including but not limited to processing mail, filing and special projects

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Strong communication skills.
  • AS in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Two years Accounts Payable experience
  • Ability to work well with peers, auditors, clients and management.
  • Flexibility to work on and prioritize a variety of tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including problem identification
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.
  • Experience with MRI and/or Nexus a plus.
